R\u00e9put\u00e9s pour leur agr\u00e9ment de conduite, leur souplesse et leur sobri\u00e9t\u00e9, ils ont aussi h\u00e9rit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une r\u00e9putation plus discutable : celle de moteurs qui, pass\u00e9 un certain kilom\u00e9trage, r\u00e9v\u00e8lent des faiblesses de conception r\u00e9currentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si vous poss\u00e9dez une BMW \u00e9quip\u00e9e de l&rsquo;un de ces blocs, comprendre ces points faibles n&rsquo;est pas qu&rsquo;une question de curiosit\u00e9 technique. C&rsquo;est ce qui vous permet d&rsquo;anticiper une panne, d&rsquo;\u00e9viter une immobilisation surprise, et de faire les bons choix quand vient le moment de l&rsquo;entretien. C&rsquo;est tout l&rsquo;objet de cet article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pourquoi les moteurs N47 et N57 ont-ils cette r\u00e9putation ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le N47 (essentiellement 4 cylindres, 2.0L) et le N57 (6 cylindres, 3.0L) partagent une architecture et des composants similaires, ce qui explique qu&rsquo;ils souffrent souvent des m\u00eames pathologies. Trois grandes familles de pannes reviennent le plus fr\u00e9quemment chez les propri\u00e9taires et dans les ateliers sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>La distribution par cha\u00eene mal positionn\u00e9e<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le refroidisseur EGR qui se fissure en interne<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La sortie de liquide de refroidissement en plastique qui se fissure<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chacune de ces faiblesses m\u00e9rite d&rsquo;\u00eatre expliqu\u00e9e en d\u00e9tail, car elles ne se manifestent pas toutes de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on et n&rsquo;ont pas toutes le m\u00eame niveau de gravit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. La cha\u00eene de distribution : un d\u00e9faut de conception connu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sur les premi\u00e8res g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de N47, BMW a positionn\u00e9 la cha\u00eene de distribution \u00e0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re du moteur, contre la bo\u00eete de vitesses, plut\u00f4t qu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;avant comme c&rsquo;est plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement l&rsquo;usage. Cette architecture rend le remplacement particuli\u00e8rement co\u00fbteux, car il n\u00e9cessite de d\u00e9poser le moteur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le probl\u00e8me ne vient pas uniquement de la position de la cha\u00eene, mais de sa conception m\u00eame : certains lots ont montr\u00e9 un \u00e9tirement pr\u00e9matur\u00e9, parfois d\u00e8s 100 000 \u00e0 130 000 km, avec un risque de rupture pouvant entra\u00eener une destruction compl\u00e8te du moteur si la cha\u00eene casse en roulant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Signes avant-coureurs :<\/strong>&nbsp;bruit m\u00e9tallique au ralenti, cliquetis \u00e0 froid, voyant moteur allum\u00e9 avec des codes li\u00e9s au calage de distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Le refroidisseur EGR : une fissure interne difficile \u00e0 d\u00e9tecter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le circuit EGR (recirculation des gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement) int\u00e8gre un refroidisseur destin\u00e9 \u00e0 abaisser la temp\u00e9rature des gaz avant leur r\u00e9introduction dans l&rsquo;admission. Sur les N47 et N57, ce refroidisseur est connu pour se fissurer de l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur, ce qui provoque un m\u00e9lange entre le liquide de refroidissement et les gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Concr\u00e8tement, cela se traduit par une perte de liquide de refroidissement sans fuite visible \u00e0 l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur du moteur, une fum\u00e9e blanche \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chappement, et parfois une pression anormale dans le circuit de refroidissement au d\u00e9marrage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">C&rsquo;est une panne insidieuse, car elle est souvent confondue avec d&rsquo;autres fuites du circuit de refroidissement, notamment celle que nous allons d\u00e9tailler maintenant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. La sortie de liquide de refroidissement en plastique : la panne la plus fr\u00e9quente<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">C&rsquo;est ici que nous arrivons au c\u0153ur du sujet. Sur la quasi-totalit\u00e9 des N47 et N57, BMW a fait le choix de fabriquer la pi\u00e8ce de sortie du liquide de refroidissement en sortie de culasse&nbsp;<strong>en plastique<\/strong>. Cette pi\u00e8ce, souvent appel\u00e9e en fran\u00e7ais \u00ab bride \u00bb ou \u00ab conduit de liquide de refroidissement \u00bb, et en anglais&nbsp;<em>coolant pipe<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>coolant flange<\/em>&nbsp;ou&nbsp;<em>coolant outlet<\/em>, porte la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence constructeur&nbsp;<strong>11127810707<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div data-block-name=\"woocommerce\/single-product\" Son \u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 repose sur un joint torique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pourquoi cette pi\u00e8ce casse-t-elle syst\u00e9matiquement ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contrairement \u00e0 la cha\u00eene de distribution ou au refroidisseur EGR, dont les d\u00e9faillances varient selon les lots de fabrication, la fragilit\u00e9 de cette pi\u00e8ce est presque&nbsp;<strong>syst\u00e9matique<\/strong>&nbsp;avec le temps, pour une raison simple : son emplacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mont\u00e9e directement sur la culasse, elle est expos\u00e9e en permanence \u00e0 :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>des temp\u00e9ratures pouvant d\u00e9passer 100 \u00b0C au contact du liquide de refroidissement,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>des cycles de chauffe et de refroidissement r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s \u00e0 chaque trajet,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>les vibrations continues du bloc moteur,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>la pression du circuit de refroidissement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le plastique, aussi r\u00e9sistant soit-il \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat neuf, perd progressivement de son \u00e9lasticit\u00e9 sous l&rsquo;effet conjugu\u00e9 de la chaleur et du temps.
