Introduction
This guide details the installation process for our yellow DRLs for BMW 8/M8 Series models (2018-2022). We offer several variants: CSL-Yellow, Red, Blue and other. For ease of installation, an option with DRL electronics boards pre-mounted on the heat sink (DRL module) is also available.
Note Always consult your vehicle manual or call in a professional if you're unsure about a step. Our LED DRL PCBs are designed exclusively for original headlamps and not suitable for after-market headlights.
Replacing DRL boards on the engine bay side
Tools required
✔️ Gloves
✔️ Torx screwdriver set
✔️ Drill (if you opt for DRL cards only)
✔️ Cleaning
Preparation
- Switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery to avoid the risk of electrocution.
- Raise the vehicle using an elevator or jack for optimum access to the wheel arch linings.
- If you don't want to drill through the original DRL cards, opt for the variant with DRL cards pre-mounted on the heatsinkwhich simplifies installation.
Installation steps
1️⃣ Remove motor cover fasteners
➡️ Remove the fasteners from the front engine cover.
2️⃣ Remove DRL module
➡️ Remove all T20 screws and carefully unplug the DRL module.
3️⃣ Remove old daytime running lights
➡️ Drill the original rivets to remove the old LED PCB from the heat sink.
4️⃣ Cleaning the heat sink
➡️ Use a cleaning product to ensure proper adhesion of the new DRL electronic board.
5️⃣ Installing the new DRL card
➡️ Attach the new LED electronic boards: yellow headlights - yellow DRLs.
6️⃣ Reassemble DRL module
➡️ Replace the yellow DRL module and ensure that all connections are secure.
7️⃣ Finalize installation of interior DRL cards
➡️ Reassemble all covers and parts removed during disassembly.

✔️ Socket wrench 8 mm/10 mm
Preparation
- Remove the front wheels for easier access to wheel-arch linings.
- Remove trim wheel arches by removing the screws from the 8 mm/10 mm.
Installation steps
1️⃣ Remove front wheels and trim
➡️ Remove the front wheels and wheel-arch linings.
2️⃣ Follow the same steps as for interior DRL cards
➡️ Repeat the previous steps to remove and install the external DRL card.
➡️ Ensure that the external DRL module is properly aligned and securely fastened..
