BMW X7 G07: Elegance and Power Combined

The BMW X7 G07, previewed with the X7 iPerformance Concept at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, marked BMW's bold entry into the luxury SUV segment. Production began in 2018 at the BMW US Manufacturing Company plant in Greer, South Carolina.

Based on the BMW CLAR platform shared with the G05 X5, the X7 is distinguished by its increased height and width, offering extended cargo space and a spacious third row of seats, standard and comfortable even for adults. Unlike the X5, the X7 is only available with all-wheel drive (xDrive), eliminating the option of rear-wheel drive.

The G07 features self-leveling air suspension, double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. It offers 40 mm height adjustment, with automatic 20 mm lowering at speeds over 138 km/h. Trunk volume is rated at 326 liters, rising to 2,120 liters with the seats folded down.

The engine range varies in Europe, offering both diesel and petrol options, while the US market is limited to in-line six-cylinder and V8 petrol engines. All models meet the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard.

In 2019, a pickup concept was unveiled, although not destined for production. In April 2022, BMW launched a revised version of the X7, retaining the iconic aesthetics of the first generation with notable improvements to the front design.

Equipment and options

The X7 G07 is available in the Design Pure Excellence, Sport and M Sport trim levels. Standard equipment includes Vernasca leather, four-zone climate control, iDrive 7.0, adaptive LED headlights, wireless charging, and three rows of electrically adjustable and heated seats.

In terms of safety and convenience, the X7 is equipped with driver assistance, adaptive cruise control, and collision detection with brake intervention. Top-of-the-range options include heated and cooled cup holders, a panoramic roof with LED motifs, and laser headlights.

M Sport models can be customized with M performance parts, such as carbon fiber mirrors, sport steering wheel, floor mats and steel pedals. The X7 G07 combines luxurious elegance with powerful performance, honoring BMW's heritage.
